Cookie Policy
Last updated: [Date]
This explains every cookie (and similar browser storage) that www.blti.training uses, why, and how to change your mind at any time. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers what we do with the rest of your data.
How your choice works
The first time you visit, a banner asks you to Accept all, Reject non-essential, or customize your choice by category — nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies is set until you decide. You can change your answer at any time using the 🍪 button in the corner of any page, or the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. Choosing "Reject non-essential" is exactly as easy as "Accept all" — we don't hide it behind extra clicks or a smaller, harder-to-notice button.
Necessary — always on
These make the site work; there's no consent toggle for them because the site (and your ability to change cookie preferences at all) can't function without them.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
*_session | Keeps you signed in and remembers short-lived things like form validation errors between page loads. | Until you close your browser, or up to 2 hours of inactivity | Us |
XSRF-TOKEN | Security — confirms a form submission genuinely came from our own site, not a malicious one tricking your browser into acting on our behalf. | Same as the session above | Us |
blti_cookie_consent (browser storage, not a cookie) | Remembers your cookie choice itself, so you're not asked again every visit. | Until you clear your browser's site data, or we materially change what cookies we use | Us |
Analytics — only with your consent
Helps us understand which pages are useful and where visitors get stuck, so we can improve the site. We never use this to identify you personally or to advertise to you.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics — distinguishes visitors and sessions so we can see aggregate usage patterns. | Up to 2 years | Google (third party) |
We use Google's Consent Mode: until you say yes, Google Analytics doesn't set these cookies or record an identifiable visit at all.
Marketing — only with your consent, and only if we've turned one on
Reserved for any advertising or marketing pixel we might add later (for example, to measure how well an ad campaign works). None are active on this site by default — if that ever changes, they'll appear here with the same detail as the table above, and your existing "no" stays a "no" until you're asked again.
Cookies we do NOT use
We don't use third-party advertising trackers, cross-site retargeting pixels, or any cookie that sells or shares your personal information with data brokers.
Browser controls
Beyond the choice above, every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its own settings — doing so may log you out or break parts of the site that depend on the necessary cookies above.
Changes to this policy
If what we actually do with cookies changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and the cookie banner will ask for your consent again rather than silently carrying forward an answer you gave to a different question.
